Nothing, you can do it all yourself, but it really boils down to what you think is fair.

I wouldn’t pay a cent. It’s bogus – it’s been proven it is impossible to do what you’re promising.

    I wouldn’t pay a thing.

All those services are a scam. If you have the cash to pay for such a service, you have the cash to start paying off what you owe.

    Do not pay anyone.
it takes seven years to get bad debt off your rating.
pay your bills and you can achieve this
pay on time each month and you will help to build a new score

Ditto the above answers. These are usually scams…you can fix your own credit, by paying in a timely manner, and not spending more than you can afford.

I would pay absolutely nothing..Many of these companies that promise to fix your credit don’t it is all a scam.

If all they could do was remove 50% of the negatives from my credit reports I would not pay them anything. However, if they could remove everything, I would pay over $1000 if that is what it takes.

Problem is, though credit repair is real (despite what the previous answerers have tried to get you to believe) and CAN be done legally and ethically, most credit repair companies out there are either scams or cannot deliver on their promises. There are only a handful of companies in the country that can deliver the removal of at least 50% or more negative information. Even fewer who can remove it all. And of those, maybe two who offer a money back guarantee.

It is extremely important that you do your due dilligence when dealing with these companies.

As for credit repair itself, one can do their own credit repair. It is a difficult process and very time intensive, but if you read and understand the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you can find a way to remove just about anything from your credit reports. The beauty of it is that each piece of information reported on you must meet all the requirements set forth in the FCRA. If it doesn’t meet ANY one of the 340 requirements it MUST be either corrected or removed from your reports.
