I’m tryin to sell my house in Michigan. We have had it up for sales for 2 months, and had only one showing. We can’t lower our asking price any lower then it currently is without having to come to closing with money. (that I don’t have) Since our realtor already lowered his commission he suggested talking to our mortgage company about a short sale. What is your opinion?

I’m in the market for a house, but my score is kinda low, does anyone know of a mortgage company that can work with a 585 score? I know interest will be high but I’m ready to be a home owner. DTI is good.

We paid off a 2nd mortgageforeclosure before it went through. We continued to pay on our first mortgage with no problem. The attempted forclosure was not on our credit report until we refinanced with a new mortgage company. Is this fair? It looks suspicious that it only appeared on our credit after we refinanced with a new company. We understand that business is business but it seems that they were fine with everything until we pulled our mortgage from them and went with another company.

I have tried Prosper, but it is not available in the state I live in. I need a small loan to get some bills caught up and help us adjust to a new place and home. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas…..??

If someone would correct inaccurate information, remove at least 50% of the negative items statistically, and drastically increase your credit score, which one of the following would that be worth…espescially if it meant you getting a home loan after the service?
A) $500
B) $750
C) $1,000
D) More

My boyfriend and I have discussed marriage but one of my biggest concerns is his credit. He is working towards improving it, but I know this will take years. I have excellent credit. If we get married and do NOT have any joint accounts, seperate car loans, home in my name, seperate credit cards, etc, will his credit score have any effect on mine? Also if he continues to damage his credit after getting married, will that effect my credit score?

Bad Credit?

Years ago I got married at 17 and my credit went downhill from there. Bad car loans (2), medical bills (3), credit card bills (2), one eviction and a cell phone bill…. all unpaid some older than 8 years now. I would say a little less than 30,000 in unpaid debt! I am now divorced he is filing for bankruptcy and I do not want to do that because I never want to mark “have you ever filed bankruptcy” on any box.
I am now a full time student, with a part time job and live at home with my mommy again ( never fun to do!!) I want to start paying on some of these bills even if I am just sending in 100 or 200$ a month to them….
What is the best way to go about it?
What bills should I focus on paying first?
Should I not pay some of the older ones?

my credit is bad and a loan would really help. i would like to pay off somethings and consolidate the rest, what can i do? Why can’t the equity in my home speak for itself, i’ve never refinanced?

While I don’t owe any debt and pay off my credit card bill in full why are banks so stupid to give credit cards and home loans to just about anybody?

Part of the reason so many banks have gone under is because they were stupid to loan money to people who didn’t desrve the loans.

If someone wants to buy a flat pannel TV for $2,000 why can’t people save money in an envelope for a year or 2 until they have the cash to actually buy the $2000 TV? Most people won’t end up paying the bank for the money they borrowed to buy a TV?

Why do people who have a household income of $40,000 per year buy houses for $600,000 on loans. Shouldn’t the bank have realized that a couple with a houshold income of $40,000 can’t afford to make the payments on a $600,000 home.

Why should we the taxpayers bail out these banks when they made bad loan decisions?

People need to realize to live withing their means.

There was an article about Apple computer giving a loan to a person on welfare to buy a $2,500 laptop? Why does someone on welfare need a $2,500 computer?

Enough is enough! Banks need to get strict again on who they loan money to.
